Spider Orchid – Brassia Verrucosa

Type: Epiphytic.

Features: Upright egg-shaped pseudobulb topped with a pair of dark green leathery leaves.

Arching flower stems, arising from the base of the pseudobulb, carry close-set 10-15cm (4-6in) long spidery flowers. 
The slender sepals and petals are pale green spotted with dark green, red or brown-purple; the lip is white with green spots.

Size: Arching flower stem up to 90cm (3ft) long.

Special needs: Bright but filtered light; intermediate to cool temperatures; apply a weak foliar fertilizer fortnightly during active growth; allow three weeks rest after flowering.
