Rhoicissus: Greenhouse Plants

C – cool, minimum of 7°C (45°F)

Family: Vitaceae

Rhoicissus rhomboidea from Natal is an extremely easy-to-grow foliage climber, known as Grape Ivy. It makes such a good houseplant it would seem a pity to waste greenhouse space on it. However, if a quick growing trouble free climber was required to do a wall covering job in a conservatory this would be a very effective choice. It will grow a lot faster if provided with a good climbing frame and should be fed well with a high nitrogen liquid feed. Cuttings are easy to root in spring and summer.
