Pavonia: Greenhouse Plants

W – warm, minimum of 13°C (55°F) / T – tropical, minimum of 18°C (65°F)

Family: Malvaceae

Pavonia multiflora from Brazil is a most attractive plant with bright red and purple flowers. It docs better under tropical conditions where it will flower for a longer period at the end of the summer. Propagation is by seed which is freely produced or by cuttings which can be taken when the plant is cut back. Unpruned, specimens will become very tall and lose lower leaves so it pays to prune hard when this stage is reached.
