Exhibition tips for Growing Melons
Unless you have a heated greenhouse you are unlikely to produce melons sufficiently good for an early summer show. To produce a good early melon grow only one fruit on a plant on a hotbed. The melon you exhibit should be large for its variety, fully ripe and thin-skinned. The flesh inside should be thick and juicy.
There is not much scope for imagination in presenting a single fruit like a melon. Simply place the fruit on the bench with the stalk-end away from you.
