Cymbidium Orchid

Type: Hybrids terrestrial (some species epiphytic).

Features: Woody rhizomes produce leathery, ribbonlike leaves. Long-lasting, 7.5-13cm (3-5in) wide, waxy flowers appear in long arching sprays from late winter to early summer. They may be any colour except blue and include both bright and dusky shades. 

Size: Up to 1.2m (4ft) tall.

Special needs: Bright light but no direct sun; intermediate/cool temperatures; water moderately; liquid feed fortnightly; allow brief rest at 15°C (59°F) in winter.
