Coronilla : Greenhouse Plants

FF – frost free only/C – cool, minimum of 7°C (45°F)

Family: Leguminosae

Coronilla glauca is worth growing for its bright yellow pea-like flowers and attractive evergreen foliage. Flowers are borne in late spring and have a mouth-watering fruity smell, during the day only, which is reminiscent of peaches and pineapple. As this shrub is almost hardy it makes an excellent plant for the frost free house. Cuttings should be taken in late summer or seed sown on the surface of peaty compost at 18-21°C (65-70°F) in spring. C. g. Pygmaea is a smaller more compact version for those having to economise on space.
